Mother & Baby Clinic

Having a baby will probably be the most wonderful, exciting and life-changing thing you will do. It can also be worrying, at times overwhelming, and often exhausting. I’m here to help and support.

I’m Catherine, a registered craniosacral therapist based in Beaconsfield. When I found craniosacral therapy – or it found me – I knew that I had discovered a unique practice. A treatment so gentle yet profoundly transformative which is suitable for everyone from newborn babies to the elderly. I use light touch techniques to listen attentively to the body sensing changes in the cranio-sacral rhythm and areas of tension or restriction, moving my hands to support the body’s natural healing processes, calming the nervous system, relieving tension and inducing deep relaxation.

Craniosacral Therapy for Babies and Children
Babies and children respond very positively to the light touch or hands off approach used in CST. The light touch used is soothing and comforting for them. Babies can be treated while asleep, or feeding, or cradled in their mother’s arms and there is no need to undress them.

Here are a few examples of the conditions that can be helped:

  • Birth trauma

  • Colic, reflux and other digestive issues

  • Developing good sleep patterns

  • Torticollis (wry neck)

  • Tongue tie

  • Ear infections

  • Hyperactivity

  • Learning difficulties

CST offers a safe, gentle, and effective way to support the health and well-being of babies and children, addressing a wide range of physical, emotional, and developmental issues, resulting in a happier, healthier childhood.

Craniosacral Therapy for Mums
I also encourage mums to have craniosacral therapy. New babies are especially sensitive to how their mothers are feeling in the weeks following birth. Treatment can help with postnatal recovery and help re-align the body and support pelvic health. It can also support hormonal balance, improve energy levels and ease stress and tension. If you are feeling well, your baby is more likely to feel calm and settled.
